Be polite. Listen when it his/her turn to talk. Avoid interrupting him/her. Never do your make up or brush your hair in front of him. If you are a smoker and you can no longer resist it, ask for permission. Refrain from using your cellular phone in front of your date. Excuse yourself if there is really a need to do it. Even if you are disappointed with your date, bear with him/her. Anyway, you can always ask to end the date earlier.

Do not experiment. This is not the best time to taste the exotic food you have been dying to savor. Allot other occasions to do that. Keep your food orders as decent and as light as possible.

Offer to split the expenses. This is becoming more and more acceptable nowadays. Traditionally, men should pay the bill. However, it is gracious to offer your share.

Enjoy the date. This is your date, so have fun.
