Reasons For Divorce - 4 Of The Main Causes

The reasons for divorce are legion and while I'm listing four of the main ones, you yourself, if you've suffered through a divorce, may disagree, if for no other reason than the cause for your break-up was something entirely different. But if these aren't the main reasons, then they're not far from the top.

Reason 1. Lack Of Communication.
I don't think there can be any argument about this. If a couple fails to communicate, then the marriage must be doomed to failure. Now, it's often very difficult to keep up a proper communication. The husband may work the night shift, while the wife works during the day.

Even so, unless they're both working seven days a week, which is most unlikely, certainly unnecessary, then they must put a day aside to discuss the general running of the house, what needs repair, what the children's needs might be, their own needs and if there's a problem somewhere in the marriage. This must be addressed.

Perhaps there's a way of changing the husband's hours so that he can spend more time with his family. A problem here can often be that the husband enjoys working the night shift, because it keeps him away from the responsibilities of helping his wife with the children. So many men especially seem to think that they can simply marry, but lead much the same sort of lives as they did when they were single. Sorry, chaps, but it doesn't work that way. Which leads us into

Reason 2. Commitment.
The wife suddenly finds that she has two children to look after and an absentee husband. Now, we keep putting the blame for all this on the poor old husband. Unfortunately, he's all too often at fault, but so too may be the wife. She may look after the children and do a good job, but the children are only part of the marriage.

They may both work during the day at five day a week jobs. What can happen all too often is that the husband comes home with the wife, and he expects her to prepare an evening meal, keep the house clean, look after the children, etc. By no means every husband is like this. Often, the man will help his wife on a very fair basis. If this is the case, then both are properly committed to the marriage.

Reason 3. Infidelity.
If the one or the other travels a lot, then this gives both of them the chance to graze in someone else's meadow, as it were. Which leads us into

Reason 4. Immaturity.
It really does show immaturity and a complete disregard for your partner's feelings to hop into bed with someone just because they're available and you're not on home ground. Immaturity can show itself in so many ways of course. Quite simply, you should never have married in the first place.

Before taking that most serious step of matrimony, the most vital thing is to think it through
