Dance Lessons - A Low-Cost Way to Meet Singles

The bar scene. It's loud, the music is usually sub-par, and you stand a great chance of being rejected when approaching someone new. Speed dating is great, if you really think you can get to know someone in under two minutes. What about Internet dating? Wouldn't you just love to have a relationship with a computer? If you are single, and trying to meet that special someone, maybe you should consider ballroom dancing!

One of the most fun and inexpensive ways for singles to meet new people is to take a group dance class. If your budget is tight, group dance classes are the way to go. Often, you can find a dance school that offers beginner and intermediate group ballroom dancing classes for under $10 per class, and you may even receive refreshments, and a chance to spend some extra time practicing with a partner you meet following the class.

There are many places where you can find low-cost ballroom dance lessons. Of course, the obvious choice is to check out the local dance schools and see what they have to offer. There are usually many other options available to you. Take a look in the community events section of your local newspaper, and see if there are any community centers offering dance classes. You will often find that dance instructors hold workshops at community centers to save on costs.

Many YMCA's/YWCA's offer dance classes, so if there is one in your area, you may want to inquire if they do in fact have dance classes, and if so, what type of classes they offer. There are even some nightclubs and bars that have weekly dance classes, or special workshops. All it takes is a little research and a few phone calls, and you will be on your way to your first ballroom dance class and meeting other singles just like you!

There is one additional bonus to meeting new people at dance classes. Unlike when you meet someone at a bar, the people you meet at dance classes are usually sober! You have a better chance of getting to know someone when they are not drinking.

So, if you are a single person looking for a way to meet other singles in your area, enroll in a ballroom dance class. You will meet singles of all ages and personality types, and have loads of fun doing it!
